Everybody has their things that they just can't get enough of. Sometimes it's harmless, and sometimes it's darker, but we all have our addictions. Today I want to talk about the (mostly) harmless ones. Here's a list of some of the things I can't stay away from:
Frosted Cherry Pop-Tarts. These are a staple in my house. Yes, they must be frosted. And they must be "Pop-Tarts" brand. Anything else is a waste of time.
Stargate: Atlantis. I like original Stargate as well, but Atlantis has more snark, more interesting villains and most importantly, Momoa. This is my go-to "I'll just put this on in the background while I do whatever important thing I won't end up doing because I'll be watching Jason Momoa kick a Wraith's ass."
Reddit. I know I spend entirely too much time on Reddit, but it's got such a great variety of information and hilarity (usually found in the commentary vs the submissions) that I just can't give it up.
Sleep. I think I may have been a cat in a former life, because I could cheerfully sleep 20 hours a day. I really could.
Writing. Which is a good thing since I do that for part of my living now. Whenever someone asks me when I started writing my answer is always, "I've never not." I've kept journals and scribbled short stories and plays for as long as I can remember. The novel thing is recent, but writing is writing. And I look just as radiant as that picture when I do it. Sure I do.
Sunflower Seed Kernels. Yes, the kernels. Eff having to split them open and farm out the inside. I know people who can't imagine eating them without the shell but life's too short for me to have to work that hard. Unfortunately, the kernels are way too easy to eat a lot of. I will literally unhinge my jaws and pour them down my throat, so I try not to buy them too often.
Game of Thrones. Even though they killed off Momoa (sorry - SPOILER!), I am still completely and utterly hooked. I can't wait to see how it all comes down in season eight!
Travel. I made my first solo trip to Dublin, followed by a jaunt to London six months later, and now I'm thinking either Iceland or Edinburgh is up next - after another trip to Ireland, of course. Logistics and finances may not always make it easy, but I've got a bad case of wanderlust, so even a weekend road trip here and there takes the edge off . . . but not for long.
