Tippy-Talk Is An App That Helps Non-Verbal Children With Autism Communicate

I just want to give a shout-out to an awesome app designed by Rob Laffan of Limerick, Ireland.

Rob came up with the idea working on human-machine interface designs. As he was completing his studies, his daughter, Sadie, was diagnosed with autism.

“We discovered Sadie was autistic when she was two as she was not responding and interacting like you would expect at that age. It was a shock, but rather than feeling sorry for ourselves we decided we would do everything possible for Sadie,” he explained.

During his studies at the Limerick Institute of Technology, he worked on touch screen technology and put together a program of messaging using symbols Sadie could understand and interact with. Check out the video (and the app!) for more information!
