Yes, it's that time of year again. A time when we pick up our caddy, add in our eco-friendly cleaning products, artfully drape our gloves over the side, stack up our sponges and say:
THE HELL WITH THIS.
Oh, wait, I mean, "LET'S GET TO WORK!"
And you have to say it with enthusiasm because we love to be cleaning, don't we? Every stock picture I searched out under "Spring Cleaning" either showed and artful caddy like the one above or a woman who looks perfectly giddy wearing a kerchief on her head and rubber gloves.
I am not giddy.
I have been laboring under writing deadlines and ramping up on all this book marketing stuff, and my house has suffered for it. So this week, the gloves go on and my back and knees go out.
So load me up with your best cleaning tips - I can use 'em! I plan to hit one room at a time every day, even if it's just a closet. Sooner or later, it's all going to get done, right? Right?
My least favorite thing I need to do is not bathrooms, or floors or windows. It's paper. I have a real problem with incoming mail, sorting it, tossing it . . . I've got literal stacks of unopened junk mail that I should just toss, or at least review to be sure it's junk mail and I didn't accidentally miss something important. Maybe I'll do a pile every night when I get home from work 'till that's out of the way. This is my personal achilles heel and I don't know why I do it.
What about you? What's your least favorite cleaning/organizing chore?
